It’s that time of year – the time when you wouldn’t bat an eyelid at a severed head sat beside you on the tube or being squashed up against Frankenstein on the number 8 bus. It is of course – Halloween!
Nowhere does Halloween in Britain quite like London. Whether it’s a bit of debauchery in the capital’s late night scene or some family-friendly fun, London has plenty to offer on this spookiest of dates.
If you’re looking to get your kicks in style this Halloween then a stay at one of our London hotels will provide you with the perfect place to apply your prosthetic limbs, do your deathly makeup or add the finishing touches to your spooky outfit.
To whet your appetite, here are five terrifying events in London this year to make Halloween go with a bang!
The London Dungeon Late – Thursday Oct 31st
The spookiest attraction in the capital, The London Dungeon will be opening its doors later for one day only this year. You can take a disturbing trip through plague-ridden London complete with rats, boils and plenty of ‘interesting’ characters.
Or, meet Guy Fawkes, avoid getting a haircut from Sweeney Todd and get an earful from Henry VIII (voiced by Brian Blessed.)
Not only are there 18 different ‘surprises’, you can also go on two panic-inducing rides including a trip down the Thames (to your execution) or a three-story drop into the darkness.
Needless to say this is not one for the faint hearted and young kids will find it too terrifying, but if you’re looking for some scares and a good time, look no further than the London Dungeons on Halloween night.
Mulletover Halloween 2013 – Saturday Nov 2nd
Famous for hedonistic fun, fantastic music and some wonderfully silly fancy dress, Mulletover Halloween nights have been the talk of London for some time.
Expect house and disco music from Mano Le Tough in a secret location (if the last few years are anything to go by – you’re in for a treat.)
Just make sure you put some serious effort into your outfit – these guys don’t mess around when it comes to Halloween celebrations.
Spooktacular Family Fun Day – Thursday Oct 31st
Not all of London’s Halloween events are kid-friendly but the Family Day at Queen’s House is spooky fun for everyone.
There are plenty of weird and wonderful activities planned and prizes for the best (and scariest) costumes – so get sewing!
Random Magic Halloween Special – Saturday Oct 26th
This gaggle of London promoters sure know how to throw a party. At their roguish best they can turn any event into a must-attend night for you and all your friends.
This year they are planning a huge mini festival where some of London’s best labels from the electronic scene will be showing off their hottest acts.
Expect banging tunes and trendy costumes, all mixed up with plenty of fun and some particularly weird and creepy overtones. This is one night you cannot miss this Halloween.
