The summer means music festivals, and if you can’t wait until then to see some epic concerts, don’t worry. May is packed full of music events, and there’s still time to get your tickets to witness some of them. Here are a few of the best concerts set for May:
Leona Lewis on tour
The wonder that is Leona Lewis is touring all around the UK throughout May. Highlights include two days in the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the O2 Apollo in Manchester, but why not go for something a bit different and see the end of her tour at the Plymouth Pavilions on 18th May? Stay in our Plymouth hotel, make a weekend of the trip to Devon, and enjoy some early British summer on the South coast.
Alicia Keys tour
For some more soul and sass, but this time of the American variety, make your way to Nottingham’s Captial FM Arena to see Alicia Keys on 28th May. If you’re staying in our Nottingham hotel, you can combine the concert with a trip the spectacular Wollaton Hall and Park, or, for a bit of nerdiness, a stop off at Warhammer World.
Journey/Whitesnake are all over the UK for the month of May, so why not try and catch them at one of the many venues, including the LG Arena in Birmingham on 28th? All you need is a room in one of our Birmingham hotels, a plan to visit Cadbury World, or what’s often considered the UK’s premier Symphony Hall, and you can make a mini break of it.
English Music Festival – The Spirit of England
If you’re in search of a more civilised affair, the English Music Festival, which takes place in Dorchester-on-Thames between 24th and 27th May, might be just your thing. With a focus on early twentieth century music, you’ll hear plenty of Tallis, Byrd, Howells and Britten, as well as the work of some contemporary composers. Stay in our Oxford hotel and you can combine the festival with a visit to the famous university city.
Lana del Rey tour
If you’re a fan of the fabulous Lana del Rey, you’ll want to be in Manchester for 12th or 13th May. Find a room in one our Manchester hotels, and make sure you’re at the O2 Academy to see this leg of her tour.
Muse are only the UK for a few dates of their world tour, so make sure you get your tickets to see them in London, or, for something a bit different at Ricoh Stadium in Coventry on 22nd May. Our Coventry hotel is only a short distance away, so you’ll be right at the heart of the action.
Love Saves The Day Festival
On 25th May, Bristol is taken over by the big Love Saves The Day crowd, who come from far and wide to see a range of world-class electronic music performers. Book into one of our Bristol hotels to avoid missing it.
