Watergate Bay

If you have an active family, they will absolutely love the stunning Watergate Bay. Just a short drive from our Newquay Seafront hotel, the beach is home to the Extreme Sports Academy, which teaches surfing, kite surfing, traction kiting and wave skiing. The beach is also home to Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen restaurant, so after a tiring day out on the waves, you can count on an excellent meal here.

Rhossili Bay

It might be quite a trek down the cliffs to Rhossili Bay, but it is absolutely worth it. Anyone who finds themselves anywhere near Swansea in summertime should plan to spend at least one day on this sand strip. It’s the perfect place for some swimming and a picnic, and then you can work off the sandwiches with a stroll along the cliffs to Worm Head. Stay in our Swansea Central hotel to be a short drive from some of the best sea views in the UK.

Shell Beach

The Channel Islands are a little slice of summery heaven and if you haven’t yet made the short journey, then now is definitely the time.  You can catch a ferry over to Herm Island Guernsey. On this tiny Isle with just a handful of inhabitants you’ll discover the stunningly beautiful Shell Beach. This is a secluded spot with a sparse population, so there’s plenty of space for everyone. If you take a walk along the beach you will almost always find you a stretch that’s blissfully deserted.

Woolacombe Bay

Granted the coveted blue flag standard, Woolacombe is one of the best family beaches  in England. There are three miles of prime sandcastle building territory, as well as opportunitis to surf, horse-ride along the beach and even squeeze in a game of golf. There’s also a high ropes course, a pirate-themed crazy golf course and a climbing wall for the more adventurous amongst you. Make our Barnstaple hotel your base for the perfect family beach week.

Longsands Beach

Did you know Newcastle was a sunbather’s paradise? Most people don’t realise that a sandy shore as lovely as Longsands is lurking just a short distance from the city centre. Book a room in one of our Newcastle hotels and you can enjoy the perfect combination of a city break and a sunny beach holiday.

Huisinis Beach

If you’re up for an adventure, then why not journey to the wonderfully remote Isle of Harris, part of the Scottish Outer Hebrides. There you’ll find Huisinis Beach, with lush white sands and crystal clear waters; you’ll be convinced you’ve made it to the Tropics. While the weather holds out, there’s no beach holiday like the one you’ll have in the Scottish Isles, so stay in our Fort William hotel and get your agenda sorted for some serious island hopping.
