LONDON CITY AIRPORT TRAVELODGE MAKES HISTORY AS PART OF UK'S BIGGEST HOTEL OPENING PROGRAMME

Today, London City Travelodge made history as part of Travelodge's UK record for opening eight hotels throughout the country in one day. The 157-bedroom hotel represents a £7 million investment and has created 35 new jobs within the London area.
It is situated on Hartmann Road, London City Airport and is the closest budget hotel to the airport. Ideally located to provide business and leisure travellers a comfortable stop-over from £26 a night.
There is a choice of rooms from family, double and disabled, and you only pay for the room and not of number of guests staying. Each rooms offers a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV which offers pay on demand movies, telephone and Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities.
There is also an onsite Bar-Café at the hotel, which offers a range of meals and refreshments throughout the day and evening. (Breakfast, evening meals, snacks 24-hours a day and bar service until 1.00am). An onsite car-park is available to guests.
Oliver Sweetman, London City Travelodge Hotel Manager, said: "London City Airport is rapidly growing and has seen a dramatic increase in passengers this year. With our hotel being situated at the airport site, we can now offer business and leisure travellers a budget stop-over solution. It makes sense, to stay over and get a good night sleep before catching an early morning flight."
The other Travelodge hotels to open today include: Manchester Airport, Aberdeen Airport, Bury, Nottingham City Centre, Norwich City Centre, St Austell and Pembroke Dock, which results in a total investment of £23 million, 635 new rooms and creation of 225 jobs.

As well as breaking a UK record for opening eight hotels in one day, Travelodge has also launched a new pricing strategy which will deliver £20 million price cuts to customers in 2006. This willl include a hundred thousand £10 rooms, 500,000 £26 rooms and price cuts on thousands of standard room rates. All London Travelodge hotels will benefit from this new pricing strategy, which will help drive more business into the area.
