Disney on Ice at the London O2

Disney on Ice is coming to The O2 in Greenwich from the 22 December to the 3rd January 2016. And it should be a London Christmas activity to remember, packed with the kids’ favourite characters from Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story and more.

However you feel about meeting Elsa, Anna and Marshmallow again, here are some tips to make the rest of your London Christmas break easy.

The area around The O2 has everything you need for a hassle-free holiday, including a good choice of hotels. Stay in a Travelodge Greenwich or Docklands to be a Tube ride away from The O2, and in reach of the sights south of the river.

Here is our guide to making the most out of your Disney London break:

1. Where to stay

The London Docklands Travelodge is about 2 miles from The O2, which you can get to in about 15 minutes using the London Underground and DLR. As well as being close to the show, the Docklands hotel is also near London attractions including the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Cutty Sark and the Tower of London – all quick to get to on public transport.

If you’re staying at one of our Greenwich hotels, you’ll be close to Greenwich Pier, from where you can take a scenic 10-minute boat ride to North Greenwich and The O2. Get ready to snap away with your camera phone!

2. Where to eat

Kids get breakfast free at all our hotels, so go ahead and order the full English in our unlimited breakfast.

If you’re heading to the shops and sights around the Tower of London and St Katharine’s Dock, stop for lunch at Zizzi. Or if you’re at the Cutty Sark, the well-known Gipsy Moth pub is just a hop away and serves top-notch burgers.

The O2 itself is home to a number of kid-friendly places to eat, such as Frankie and Bennie’s, and Garfunkel’s. Go for the familiar at the venue’s Pizza Express, or if you’re looking for something a little more exotic try the delicious menu at Busaba Eathai.

3. Things to do near The O2

While Disney may be the focus of your trip to London, don’t miss out on the other activities in the area.

Fire up a bit of healthy competition at the Brooklyn Bowl or get to know the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll at a great family exhibition about Elvis right inside the dome.

A ride on the Emirates Air Line, just a few minutes walk away, is a memorable way to see London from a height and only costs £3.40 for an adult and £1.70 for a child* when you use an Oyster card or contactless debit card. Remember that you can use either one on London public transport during your stay for Pay as you Go fares.

A trip to the Cutty Sark is also a good idea if you are in the area. And at this time of year you can even find out what Christmas was like during times gone by at the Royal Museums Greenwich seasonal festive events.
