iStock_000010882555XSmallAs this year draws to a close it’s time to think about how to begin the next. New Year is the perfect time to refresh, so why not start off on the right foot with a bit of pampering? There’s no better way to kick start all those healthy New Year’s resolutions than with a treat for you and your tired body. Here are some of the best places to go this January for a bit of TLC:

The Brecon Beacons

This part of Wales is stunning and comes complete with craggy hills and waterfalls. But it’s not only great for winter walking; the area also has half a dozen excellent spas. Book for a day at one of them and you can expect outdoor jacuzzis with mountain views as well as alternative healing treatments. Stay in our Merthyr Tydfil hotel to be on the edge of the national park and close to many of the spas.

Bath Spa

The whole of the city of Bath was built around the natural spring that has drawn people to the spa for centuries. Stop off at The Pump Room to drink the healing waters, and then visit the modern Thermae Spa which uses the naturally heated spring water. You can learn all about the history of people coming to Bath to pamper themselves in the newly redone Roman Baths museum. Stay in our Bath Central hotel to join in the tradition.

St. Andrews

If you’re craving some spa pampering but your partner isn’t so enthusiastic, why not head up to Scotland and visit the town famous for its golfing? Golf and spas come hand-in-hand, and whichever activity you prefer, you are sure to be thoroughly satisfied by the quaint town that is St. Andrews. Stay in our Dundee Central hotel to combine a few days in St. Andrews with all that the bustling city has to offer.

Wadebridge

Cornwall’s coastline is some of the most beautiful and rugged in the UK, but head up the inlet of the River Camel and you’ll find a riverside town that is lovely, peaceful and the perfect place for some blissful relaxation. Wadebridge has some of the best spas in Cornwall as well as lots of delicious food and a great market. If you fancy some outdoor activity the cycle path that leads through the town along the river is very popular. Stay in our Wadebridge hotel for the perfect, south England break.

Durham

In between big industrial cities of the North is cute little Durham. The city is ancient and beautiful with all sorts of historical buildings to explore and winding streets to wander. You’ll find plenty of peace wandering along the river path, but the area also has some great spas, both in the city and in the surrounding countryside. Stay in our Durham hotel for a slice of culture and plenty of pampering.
