Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt | National Parks nationwide | Easter holidays

Cadbury has once again partnered up with the National Trust and the National Trust for Scotland to create some eggcellent, eggciting things to do with the family across thousands of parks in the UK including the Lake District and New Forest. To find your nearest event and join the hunt, head over to the Cadbury website.

Easter Duck Quest | 8 Wetland Centres nationwide | 4th- 19th April (some sites may vary)

As well as a whole host of nature inspired activities such as wildlife photography, bird watching, swan feeding and even a Lego® brick animal trail to explore, you and your clan can go on a special Easter hunt with a difference. Instead of egg hunting, your mission will be to hunt down all of the sneaky yellow rubber ducks. There’s a yummy prize for the winner, so get your investigating hats on and head over to a local Wetland Centre for some quacking easter fun.

Hidden City | London | Anytime

Join a hunt of a different kind with Hidden City; an immersive real-world adventure game of exploration and discovery. There are 3 styles of game to choose from, each with a unique end goal and different levels of interactivity. Each game is played through your phone and will have you searching high and low around London, exploring every nook of the city to find clues that will solve the mystery and win the game. Hop-Hop-Hooray! | Colchester Zoo | 4th- 19th April

A cracking family day out is awaiting you and your clan at Colchester Zoo. Take a springtime walk on the wildside by venturing into the Orangutan Forest, or for more ‘eggcitement’, head over to the Easter Egg trail and collect all the eggs to win a prize. Once you’ve collected your prize, carry on the seasonal fun at the Discovery Centre where you and the kids can get creative with a crafty activity or two. Plus, don’t miss a fantastic free opportunity to feed some of the parks most gentle giants- the elephants and giraffes at public feeding sessions.

Eggcellent Easter Break | Paradise Park, Hertfordshire | from 4th April

It’s not just humans that love an Easter treat. At Paradise Park this Easter holiday you can peep in as each of the animals around the park get their own seasonal surprise and you can see their joy as they tuck into their treats and play. There are also lots of eggciting competitions and arts and crafts to get involved in. Just in time for Easter this year, the park will be opening Land of the Tigers, a special Amur Tiger habitat that will be the first of its kind in the UK. As well as seeing them frolic on the ground, Land of the Tigers will also allow you to see them swimming and even taking a dive underwater in their new pool.

Puss in Boots | The Hexagon, Reading | 8th- 11th April

This Easter you can enjoy the story of Puss in Boots that’s choc full of excitement…..Oh yes it is! Featuring all the usual fun of a panto; energetic dance routines, elaborate singing, lots of laughs and a star-studded cast including Suzanne Shaw from ITV’s Dancing on Ice and Hearsay, and CBeebies star Chris Jarvis, this show is set to be a sure winner with the kids and grown ups too.

Wizard of Oz | Swan Theatre, High Wycombe | 6th April

Take the whole family out for a trip to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz at the High Wycombe Swan Theatre this Easter break. Sing along with the energetic pantomime version of the much loved story as you are welcomed into the Land of Oz and follow Dorothy, her adorable dog Toto, Scarecrow Bobby Davro and the gang on their journey along the winding yellow brick road to the Emerald City where the Wizard lives. Get ready for some hilarious family fun and beware, there may be a wicked witch!

West-End classics | London’s West-End | throughout 2020

If you’re in London and want all the fun of the theatre, then there really is only one place to go- The West End. Every popular classic from The Lion King playing at the Lyceum theatre, to Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre until September and many more, the West End has an entertaining show for all. Enjoying a show at London’s theatre capital needn’t be expensive, there are booths dotted around Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus where you can grab bargain priced same day tickets.

Bound around one of Britain’s National Parks

From 4th until 19th April, it’s National Park fortnight and what better way to show your park some love than going on a family adventure this Easter holiday. All you need is a sense of adventure, and nature will do the rest…

North York Moors

Nestled between York and Middlesbrough and spreading across the two iconic northern coasts of Whitby and Scarborough, the North York Moors offer a beautiful and plentiful landscape to explore. Throughout the easter holidays, there will be lots of eggciting things to see and do including an easter egg hunt and a lots of inspiring wildlife demonstrations and educational sessions. From the National Park Centre in Danby, you can pick up a trail map and head out in search of those illusive eggs. If your little ones are into nature then be sure to check out the many activities on offer around the park such as cycling, treasure trails, craft sessions, walking trails and rock pooling.

The Lake District

Over on the other side of the UK, on the west coast lies the beautiful and vast Lake District National Park. As well as Easter egg hunts and trials, there’s plenty of adventurous fun to be had with activities including horse riding and cycling. If you drop by one of the park’s many visitor centres, they may even be a family fun activity or two to do to get immersed in the Lake District’s picturesque scenery and nature.

The New Forest

Down south near Southampton and Bournemouth is the New Forest National Park, which is home to a wide range of habitats, animals and nature. From the 26 miles of coastline, to the 1,000 ancient trees, wealth of heathland and the historical houses there’s lots to see and do here. There are plenty of towns and villages nestled within the park that are home to museums and galleries that will tell you more about the history of the park and the people that call it home. There are also bus tours of the park and walking and cycling trails for those wishing to work off those chocolate eggs. There are 5 main routes to explore where you will pass ancient woodland, wartime lands, roman roads and old ironworks to name but some of the highlights. On the edge of the New Forest, you’ll find the popular Paultons Park attraction where, from 4th – 19th April, the kids can meet Bobtail bunny and friends and hop around on a fun seasonal adventure.
