Travelodge Opens its First Hotel in Crawley

Travelodge opens a £7 million hotel in Crawley town centre & creates 20 jobs.

GB0677_Crawley_ Exterior4Travelodge has officially opened its first hotel in Crawley which incorporates the Company’s new room design. The 110-room property represents a £7 million investment and has created 20 new jobs within the community.

The hotel was officially opened by the Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Bob Burgess and Travelodge Chief Operating Officer, Jon Hendry Pickup at an opening ceremony today.

Crawley Travelodge is located on Pegler Way on the former site of Sussex House and is part of the ‘Town Centre North Regeneration Scheme’. It has been built as part of a co-development programme which also includes a Morrison’s supermarket and a number of other retailers.

Jon Hendry Pickup, Travelodge Chief Operating Officer said: “I am delighted to be opening our first Travelodge hotel in the heart of Crawley town centre. This new addition boosts our portfolio in the West Sussex area to eleven properties in key locations where business and leisure travellers need us.

“Crawley Travelodge has been fitted out in our new room design which has been designed by our customers. Our new style is very modern and customers will certainly experience a new fresh experience when staying with us. By autumn this year over 80% of our hotels will incorporate this new room design.”
