5 best festivals in the UK

Festival season is already under way and while your friends wait in line and pay out big money for tickets to the well-known field-crammer events, why not chill out and enjoy one of these fantastic and lesser-known festivals.

1. Two Thousand Trees (06th-08th July)

Set in the beautiful hills of the Cotswolds, this mid-size festival is now in its 10th year and accommodates around 5,000 people for 3 nights. Come for the local cider, amazing food, and music from up-and-coming rock and indie artists including Mallory Knox, Nothing But Thieves and Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes.

This festival is proudly independent and fiercely opposed to the trappings of mainstream events. Avoid the mud and book in a hot shower with a room at our nearby Travelodge Cheltenham hotel.

2. Curious Arts Festival (21st-23rd July)

Set on the outskirts of the magical New Forest, the Curious Arts Festival offers much more than just live music, with pop-up restaurants, talks and debates, strange happenings and copious amounts of theatre and entertainment.

This is a weekend away for the adventure lover who longs to get lost in magic and mystery. The venue for this event makes it all the more special, with the beautiful backdrop of Pylewell Park providing the setting for a fully immersive event.

3. Farmfestival (28th & 29th July)

With reasonably priced tickets and a laid-back, friendly atmosphere, Farmfestival is the perfect place to enjoy the festival atmosphere without any of the hassle of larger events.

The festival takes places in Somerset and expect to leave feeling rested rather than exhausted. This year’s line up includes Roots Manuva and DJ Yoda. There are 7 live music stages, workshop areas and a big top and kids tent.

Make life easier and book a room at our Travelodge Wincanton hotel for warm showers and comfortable beds.
