Travelodge opens its first hotel in Poole

Travelodge is delighted to announce the opening of the Travelodge Poole hotel, its first in Poole, sixth in Dorset, and 534th hotel to date.

A new-build hotel, the 125-room property, with Bar Café and free on-site car parking is located in the newly developed Lifeboat Quay area, directly opposite Poole train station.  The hotel represents a property investment of £9.5 million for the landlord and has created 31 new jobs within the community.

Just prior to the hotel’s official opening ceremony, Travelodge hosted an action packed treasure hunt for local families where they could win UK weekend breaks and a top prize of a bespoke luxury king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed.  Participating families were given top of the range technology and GPS mapping to guide them through exciting challenges around Poole. During the challenge, teams engaged with costumed characters in set locations and completed interesting challenges for points.

The winning team was a three generation family from Moor Down in Bournemouth, Will & Victoria Coe and their seven family members; who took home a bespoke luxurious king size Travelodge Dreamer Bed and a family holiday to Cornwall.    Victoria’s mum entered the family into the treasure hunt as she desperately wanted to win the holiday for her daughter and her family as Victoria and Will gave up their annual holiday this year to be volunteers in Ukraine.

Victoria Coe, winner of the Travelodge treasure hunt said:”

We are delighted to have won the Travelodge treasure hunt. We had an amazing time, it’s such a great idea to get the family together and explore Poole. We are so excited to have won the Travelodge Dreamer bed as we needed a new bed and the holiday in Cornwall is a great bonus as we can now get away this year and spend some quality time together as a family.”

Dan Stooks, Hotel Manager

“I am really pleased with the recruitment process and proud of the staff and team I have put together. They come from all walks of life, are of various ages and really get on well. I had to look through over 100 CVs . We are all very excited to open our first hotel in Poole and, to mark the occasion, we thought it would be great fun to host a treasure hunt for local families on the day of our official hotel opening. It’s a great way for families to spend quality time together and discover hidden gems on their doorstep.”
