QIPCO British Champions Day is the final event in the British Flat racing season, and carries with it the largest prize of all, a whopping £4.2 million. Held at the internationally renowned – and Royal favourite – Ascot Raceground, the British Champions Day is a full day of horse racing, feasting, and after-partying. Whether you’re a racing purist or not, this is a day out to be remembered, with plenty of off-the-track events and activities taking place around the grounds. Headlining the after-party are multi-million album selling artists Basement Jaxx, so stay late and get your boogie on before you head back for some much needed comfort.
2) Film buff’s fantasy

Film fanatics rejoice, as the BFI London Film Festival returns for another year to show the best new movies from around the world. 3) Do the folky cokey

Folk music is defined as the music of the people, with songs handed down through the generations over hundreds of years. But don’t worry, it’s not all Greensleeves and Gaudete these days. Contemporary folk brings together different genres, traditions, and styles to create new and interesting music. In several venues across the city, the Manchester Folk Festival brings you performances by some of the finest folk players around. Alongside the many great performances this year are several workshops with everything from arts & crafts to songwriting masterclasses. One big event not to miss is the annual BBC Young Folk Award, which has helped launched the careers of many modern day folk legends. Don your tunic, grab your lute, and get ready for five days of fantastic folk.
4) Rally your friends for an unforgettable experience

You may have assumed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was the world’s only flying car, but you’re likely to see quite a few at the FIA Wales Rally GB. For the first time in the Wales Rally GB history, the event will start with a ceremonial opening at Liverpool waterfront. The world’s best racers will be out in force with the fastest rally cars around, putting on an unforgettable event that’s totally free to watch, perfect if you’re staying nearby. Stages take place just over the border in Northern Wales over the weekend, and you can purchase tickets according to which stage you would like to see. There’s plenty of variety in the locations, so you can see the world’s best drivers hooning around in front of a picturesque coastal backdrop at the Colwyn stage, or see spectacular jumps at Oulton Park. After a day standing in a Welsh wood, where you’ve been plastered with mud from speeding hatchbacks, you’ll definitely want a power shower a super comfy king size bed. The MCM London Comic Con is a magical gathering, where fans of fantasy can express themselves in a safe space protected by ancient runes and divine spells. This year, the MCM Comic Con is back in full force with a plethora of special guest appearances, workshops, merchandise stalls, and cosplay costumes from out of this world, sometimes literally.
