At the official opening of Travelodge Wood Green, the company announces it’s looking for 11 new hotel sites across North London<\/span><\/a> \u2013 this expansion will create around 220 new jobs<\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, at a champagne reception the Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Stephen Mann joined Travelodge Regional Director South East, Bryn Taylor to officially open Wood Green\u2019s first branded hotel, Travelodge London Wood Green.<\/p>\n

Part office conversion and new build, the new 78-room Travelodge London Wood Green represents an investment of \u00a311 million for the landlord and has created 22 new jobs. It is situated above The Mall shopping centre and is just a few minute walk from Wood Green tube station, close to Alexandra Palace and the new Tottenham Hotspurs stadium.<\/p>\n

Travelodge London Wood Green has been designed in the company\u2019s new upgraded contemporary room design \u2013 which has been created by customers. It features the bespoke luxurious king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed which has bedside USB charging points. The new modern room also has softer LED ceiling lighting, providing a warmer ambiance, a \u2018comfort cooling\u2019 system and a Samsung 32 inch digital television.\u00a0 The hotel offers, family, double and accessible rooms. The new family rooms offer individual beds for children.\u00a0 Rooms are priced from \u00a349 and can be booked at\u00a0www.travelodge.co.uk.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Travelodge is one of the biggest hotel operators in London and with the opening of Travelodge Wood Green the company now operates 68 hotels across the capital.<\/p>\n

Bryn Taylor<\/strong>, Travelodge Regional Director South East says:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been looking to open a hotel in\u00a0Haringey\u00a0for some time and are thrilled to open our first hotel in Wood Green in such a prominent position as The Mall Shopping Centre. Travelodge London Wood Green adds a great value option for visitors and also demonstrates that we are very much in the market to acquire existing buildings and turn them into thriving hotels. This also supports local regeneration, creates jobs and boosts the local economy. With this opening we have boosted our portfolio in London to 68 hotels. However, with growing demand for good value and quality accommodation across the city, in particular in North London, there is still a huge potential for Travelodge to expand further. Therefore we are looking for 11 new hotel sites across North London. Locations include: Angel Islington, Barnet, Edgware\/Mill Hill, Golders Green, Hillingdon, Ladbroke Grove, Northolt\/Greenford, Pinner, Rickmansworth, Wembley Park and West Hendon. This expansion will create around 220 new jobs and represents an investment of approx. \u00a355m for third party investors.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

North London is a key growth area for Travelodge, having already spent nearly \u00a32million refurbishing 15 hotels across the region as part of the company\u2019s \u00a3100 million nationwide modernisation programme. All Travelodge hotels now offer an upgraded contemporary room design, which features the new bespoke luxurious king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed.<\/p>\n

Travelodge London Wood Green is being managed by Sara Forouzin, one of Travelodge\u2019s top managers. Sara joined the company in January 2015 as Bar Caf\u00e9 Team Member, and within the year Sara was fast tracked into a management position \u2013 via the company\u2019s in-house management development programme.<\/p>\n
