Take a trip through the cobbled alleys and winding streets and you\u2019ll find museums where you can learn about the city\u2019s varied past, shops over-flowing with souvenirs and Scottish fashions and bars and restaurants where you can indulge in local delicacies including fine whiskey, homemade fudge, rich shortbread and traditional haggis. Watched over by the famous castle, this is a city with a strong cultural heritage, not least due to the world class art festivals that descend every August, doubling the city\u2019s population and drawing comedians, writers, musicians, filmmakers and theatre folks from around the world. The rich eclectic mix of activities in on offer in Edinburgh have led it to be hailed as both \u2018Europe\u2019s new capital of cool\u2019 and as \u2018Britain\u2019s most haunted city\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>We decided to dig beneath the surface and speak to a few of the people who know the city best to get the insider view on what to do on a short trip.
