Blackpool Pleasure Beach<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n

Often quipped by Brits as the \u2018Vegas of the North\u2019, Blackpool has been a staycation favourite for centuries with holiday makers flocking to its north east shore to take full advantage of its fun atmosphere, trademark \u2018Blackpool rock\u2019 sweet treats, and gorgeous sandy beach. However, its most popular attraction by far is the Blackpool Illuminations that start in September for 66 nights a year and run for 6 miles along the promenade. In the daylight hours, there\u2019s so much to see and do at this lively resort town, from the many attractions and amusements along the promenade, to the breath-taking views across Blackpool and beyond from the top of the iconic Blackpool Tower itself. And for the thrill-seekers, the Pleasure Beach near the South Pier has fantastic fun for all ages and has been running for 125 years.<\/span><\/p>

Morecambe Bay<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n

This once-thriving resort town is the perfect location if you’re looking for a holiday with a mix of the beach and entertainment. With a stunning promenade providing beautiful views of the bay, there are also several art installations and games for the whole family to enjoy. Down on the sand and shingles is the perfect place to spend the day having a picnic or relaxing in the sun, and when the tide is low, the shore stretches very far out, but be cautious as you don’t want to go walking on the quicksand! Along the beach, there is plenty to see, including where the bay curves around into a stone cove, as well as plenty of sailboats in the water at the northern end of the beach. There is also plenty of entertainment along the promenade, including many popular amusement centres packed with arcade games and slot machines galore. Why not stop off for ice cream or refreshments as well at one of the nearby caf\u00e9s and restaurants, bringing an end to an amazing day out.<\/p>\n

St Anne’s Beach<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n

Just south of the hugely popular Blackpool Beach lies St Anne’s Beach, a quaint but bustling seaside resort town with a gorgeous beach that is often overlooked. With miles of open public land to explore, it’s a naturally beautiful beach covered in promenade gardens, waterfalls and even ducks. Famous for its kite flying competitions and ideal for dog walking, this beach must be on your list this summer if you’re visiting with the family. Why not try out their St Anne’s Train, a miniature train that takes you around the island and straight to the seafront. If you’re looking for refreshments, why not take a walk up the promenade to the pier, where many caf\u00e9s serving ice cream and refreshments sit.<\/p>\n
