Why wait for the sun to come out before you take a much-needed weekend break? While Jack Frost is nipping there are plenty of out-of-the-ordinary romantic weekends you can have right here in the UK. Here are five of our favourites:<\/p>\n

1. Winter walk: Holkham Beach, Norfolk<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grab a big scarf and a woolly hat and head to the coast for a hearty walk along the shores of Holkham Beach in Norfolk. It’s one of the UK’s largest beaches and it’s part of a beautiful and relatively unspoilt nature reserve. The waters get quite rough in winter, which gives it a beautiful, ominous quality and the sands are full of migrant birds including larks, finches and geese. 2. Cosy pubs: Edinburgh<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Gothic streets of Edinburgh are beautiful in the winter months.
