What better way to celebrate Father\u2019s day than to treat your old man to a little trip and spend some quality time together? Then, it\u2019s not just a present for him \u2013 it\u2019s a sneaky excuse for a mini break for you too. But where should you go? There are so many places in the UK that make a great weekend destination, but here are a few suggestions of great Father\u2019s Day spots:<\/p>\n

\u00a0For the outdoorsy Dad:<\/h4>\n

There\u2019s nowhere more suited to the rugged, action-man of a father than Scotland. Book a fishing trip or a plan to do some hiking and you\u2019ll have a wonderful time out in the fresh air. Why not book a tour of Old Trafford and get a behind the scenes look at the home of one of the world\u2019s most famous teams? Stay in one of our Manchester hotels<\/span><\/a>, and then you can fill the rest of the weekend with all that the city has to offer. If you haven\u2019t had enough of football, you can visit the Manchester United Museum<\/span><\/a>, or if you\u2019re looking for something a bit different, plan to stop off at the award-winning Imperial War Museum.<\/p>\n

Ludlow has long been regarded one of the most culinary towns in the UK, so if\u00a0you’ve\u00a0got a foodie father, book a room in our Ludlow hotel<\/span><\/a> for the weekend. The town was once the only one in the UK to have three Michelin-starred restaurants, and its September food festival is legendary. The farmer\u2019s market is fantastic, and the relatively new town brewery is worth a visit. With three traditional butchers, four bakers, and a variety of specialist food shops, you\u2019ll could spend days thinking about nothing but what you want to eat next. Just make sure you book a table at Le Becasse, Mr Underhill\u2019s, or The French Pantry, (or better all three!) a long way in advance.<\/p>\n
