David, District Manager

Starting in a 66-bed hotel to learn the ropes of Hotel Management in the Bristol/Bath market set David up for a great career within Travelodge. He then moved on to work in our Support Office and is now a Multi-Site Manager juggling 14 hotels with a young family and his passion for gardening.

    David started his career with Travelodge in the heart of Bath at a 66-bedroom hotel facing all the challenges you’d expect from a city centre location.

    Aug 2008 - Aug 2011

    David then went on to double the number of bedrooms he was managing, in the Bath Waterside hotel, which happens to be our biggest and most profitable hotel in the Bath area with 125 rooms and an excellent bar cafe.

  • Hotel Manager, Bristol Mitchell Lane

    Aug 2011 - Oct 2013

    Our Bristol Mitchell Lane hotel opened in August 2011, with 151 bedrooms. David recruited a completely new team for it, and achieved one of the most successful openings in Travelodge at this location.

    Moving into a Support Office position, David then worked within our Procurement team to analyse the performance of our suppliers.

    He then moved back into Operations, managing a team of four Cluster Managers, who oversaw the performance of our Housekeeping teams in London.

    Taking on his next challenge, David moved on to managing the performance of 14 hotels in Somerset – from a 29-bed hotel to a 100-bed hotel – with a total of 800 rooms.
