Job Description

Job Title: Pricing & Strategy Analyst                             

Department: Revenue

Job Level: 5           

Position of Line Manager: Head of Commercial Pricing and Analytics 

Overall Job Purpose

  • The primary aim of this role is to provide commercial analysis and support to the Revenue Team
  • Commercial outlook with ability to quickly identify areas of interest/concern form large data sets, working autonomously to formulate decision prior to cascading to wider audience
  • Key focus will be on delivering a RevPAR growth with an aim to over deliver planned revenue targets and gain competitive advantage
  • Support the Head of Commercial Pricing and Analytics with project work


  • Maintain Travelodge’s pricing structure and policy across all systems
  • Develop and manage a suite of reports to enable the Revenue Team to make faster commercial decisions
  • On-going measurement, and monitoring to ensure IDeaS is being optimised
  • Review data to identify business trends and identify opportunities
  • Measure the impact of major price changes within each market and provide analysis for the Director of Revenue and Area Revenue Managers
  • Provide weekly analysis and reporting
  • Production of the revenue performance monthly balanced scorecard
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as required
  • Support the Head if Pricing Strategy with project work
  • Responsible for promotional rates and allocations, e.g. Friends & Family
  • Support team to cover holiday, sickness and project work as required


Internal: Head of Pricing Strategy, Revenue Managers, Area Revenue Managers, Inventory Managers, Director of Revenue, Hotel Booking Support Team

External: IDeaS Teams (ROA & Client Relationship Manager)


Person Specification: Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications


  • Good commercial acumen
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends, turning this into commercial actions
  • Educated to at least degree level
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Very detail orientated
  • Highly numerate
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Flexible and able to embrace change to meet the varying needs of the business
  • Proactive, tenacious, self-motivated, enthusiastic, personable and energetic
  • Effective communication skills



  • Experience of IDeaS RMS an advantage
  • Previous experience with report building and database querying an advantage (e.g. Visual Basic, SQL, Access, SAS etc)
  • Educated to at least degree level in a numerical subject
