Job Description

As a Product Marketing Assistant you’ll be part of our centrally based team supporting the creation and implementation of Travelodge products and services to provide an excellent customer experience.

You'll provide an administration support, including hotel and supplier liaison and invoice management as well as being responsible for the management of competitor databases and providing market support information to the team.
The role will be based in Thame but there will be a need to travel to hotels when required.
 

What you’ll be doing:


  • Building strong internal stakeholder and external supplier relationships.

  • Leading and managing the purchase order and invoicing process for all product related spend to ensure timely and accurate  payment of invoices.

  • Providing monthly and ad hoc budget spend updates to the Product team.

  • Providing accurate and up to date reports and analysis on F&B, design and hotel market data as well as competitor products and services.

  • Analysing market themes and trends and managing a database of information to support product strategy decisions.

  • Being the champion of pillowtalk insight, our internal guest feedback portal.

  • Collating relevant information to support new product introductions, providing product updates to the estate via the internal communication process.

  • Leading the creation, updating and supply of the Room Product Set Up guide in conjunction with L&D, Central Ops and the Brand teams.

  • Being the first point of contact for product queries from external and internal stakeholders

  • Managing the sourcing and storage of product samples for development use.

  • Being the guardian of the Travelodge Signage Manual, updating and sharing as required.

  • Working with the Digital team to ensure the product content of the website is up to date.

  • Providing relevant copy to the Digital team for product changes and manage the update process.

  • Liaising with the Sales team to ensure all sales channels have relevant and up to date information on all hotel product.

  • Liaising with the sales team and WiFi provider to supply WiFi codes for group bookings.

  • Monitoring and reporting WiFi sales performance and usage data.

  • Managing the customer journey copy and changes for the WiFi landing pages with the WiFi provider and the internal WiFi IT support.


What we’ll expect from you:


You should enjoy working in a fast paced, central support and service environment. This busy role involves working closely with a small group of colleagues as a well as working regularly with  a wider cross functional group of stakeholders and support network, so effective team working is a key requirement of the role.


In the Product Marketing Assistant role you will need to ‘spin lots of plates’, meet tight deadlines and be able to keep stakeholders and managers up to date with progress regularly to be effective and deliver results.  You are also likely to have broader objectives or projects you are working on alongside supporting your product team colleagues.


‘Delivering what you say you’re going to do, and by when’ is important in most roles, however this is absolutely key to being successful as a Product Marketing Assistant at Travelodge. We rely on all members of the team having excellent time management, communication and organisation skills.  


Understanding and having experience in the hotel industry is advantageous although a willingness to learn quickly, to be able to focus on the detail and play a keen and proactive role in the activities of the team will help you to be successful in this role.


You will need to be able to react with good professional judgement and have the confidence to tackle issues or queries or ask questions to get the job done as there may be times of working autonomously. You’ll need a good positive approach to work and be happy to take on any challenge, big or small to get the job done brilliantly.


The variety of tasks within this role is broad and you will need to be able to work with a flexible approach, be willing to be hands on when asked, have a detailed focus on administrative tasks and provide creative and innovative ideas as and when the role dictates.


An ability to write correspondence and internal communications and create interesting and effective presentations is a must. You will also need to be able to understand, produce and use spreadsheets and analyse data so you can inform and influence stakeholders effectively.
