The job in a nutshell


To support the Key Account Director in developing and delivering sales strategies with key Travel Management Companies, Business Travel Agents and Corporate Customers. You will also be responsible for managing your own portfolio of travel agencies and grow revenue and market share in accordance with agreed targets, working towards making Travelodge the Favourite Hotel for Value for business customers.



What you’ll be doing

  • Assist the Key Account Director in managing a portfolio of Key Global & UK Business Travel Agents within the domestic UK market.

  • Grow YoY revenue from a portfolio of accounts in line with quarterly growth targets

  • Identify and secure new business within these agency portfolios whilst focusing on developing existing accounts.

  • To meet/exceed set sales revenue, rate and room night objectives as agreed.

  • Presenting the Travelodge portfolio to the client using the most appropriate sales message face to face – also conducting property show rounds in conjunction with hotel teams.

  • Plan and execute account activities to drive awareness within your portfolio and key accounts

  • Assist in preparing comprehensive account development plans for each of the key Agency and Corporate accounts.

  • Process Requests for Proposals from your clients and meet targeted rate increases

  • Assist in preparing business reviews with key contracted customers to ensure delivery of contracted room night and revenue volumes.

  • Attend weekly sales activity review meetings with the Key Account Director. 

  • Providing a qualitative monthly report with ongoing market intelligence detailing competitor activity and rate offering within the segment.

  • Assist in negotiating annual contracts – ensuring clear commission, rate and allocation strategy is agreed and implemented. 

  • Developing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with the clients. 

  • Participate in and represent Travelodge at industry events.

  • Responsibility to communicate, support and engage with the Hotel Support Centre based Sales team to ensure customer requirements are met at all times.

  • Sales experience essential

  • Presentation skills

  • Has good attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • MS Office to a good standard. Other systems are used, but training will be given
