Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Complete quality reactive maintenance jobs within hotels across Region or area assigned.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the hotel operations teams ensuring that the customer is the key focus.
  • First time fix of completion of reactive maintenance jobs that are scheduled for hotels.
  • Comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and Travelodge policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is used as required.
  • Ensure that all jobs allocated are consistently completed to a satisfactory finish in accordance with agreed standards and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Responsible for returning rooms to sale as quickly and efficiently as possible in a safe manner.
  • Manage van storage of stock to agreed levels and ensure that you have parts available to complete jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Liaise with Line Manager to agree non-reactive works to be undertaken.

Essential

  • Experience or an ability to complete a variety of hotel maintenance jobs, and identify those that require escalation to specialist trades such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters.
  • Able to use basic technology and systems
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Drive and the determination to continuously improve
  • Always has the customer in mind and is an ambassador for the Travelodge brand.
  • Good communication skills with internal colleagues and third parties.
  • Able to deliver targets and assigned job tasks
  • Holds UK driving licence

Desirable:

We welcome applications from individuals that have a keen attention to detail and the ability to take initiative when tackling problems.

We value the experience of colleagues that have worked in a hotel environment and may have experience with ad hoc maintenance tasks. working in hotel operational roles such as management positions, housekeeping and front of house (example - reception, bar/cafe)

We recognise experience in all areas of maintenance, for example kitchen or bathroom fitting.  We also recognise the following qualifications, but they are not essential:-

  • City and Guilds or NVQ2 in Plumbing or Electrical and/or carpentry
  • Electrical Certification to 17 Edition; Inspection and testing
