The job in a nutshell
The People Business Partner works in close collaboration with managers across our support teams, building and maintaining effective relationships to support the business achieve its strategic goals.
The role is key to driving successful performance through the delivery of key people initiatives and people performance, and aligning business priorities with the people agenda. The role ensures that a talent pipeline is in place and top talent is retained.
What you’ll be doing:
Talent management and succession planning:

Works with leaders and managers to ensure that talent requirements and people capability is understood and a plan in place to meet talent gaps and key roles

Ensure that top talent is identified and retained through effective personal development planning, and work with the development team to ensure this is supported.

Managing recruitment in collaboration with the Resourcing Partner

Work collaboratively across the country with colleagues to ensure moves happen cross-departmentally and from & to hotel operations

Identify where agency / contractor arrangements are more appropriate for the business
Culture & Change management

Work with department heads to support and embed changes into their business area

Translate Travelodge expectations into internal employee and organisational behaviours

Coach leaders and managers so that they understand how their behaviour reflects the desired culture

Always give consideration to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters and create an inclusive culture.

Identify opportunities to drive productivity and commercial value through people and team effectiveness. Understands how the business operates, how each function contributes. Spots and acts on opportunities to add value.
People Development

Work with the training & development team to discuss support required to support talent initiatives

Provide ad-hoc tailored upskilling sessions based on department needs that fall outside of the L&D plan and capacity.
Stakeholder management

Build strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels, promoting communication and innovation

Present at department meetings
What we’ll expect from you
We are looking for someone with considerable experience in a fast paced HR environment. You will need to have experience of working in an environment where change is regular and priorities can change quickly. Experience of succession planning and talent management is essential.
You will have a thorough understanding of how Business Partnering works and the ability to understand the commercial impacts of decisions that are made.
Preferably CIPD accredited qualification to level 7 (or equivalent), you will be able to demonstrate your impact & influence skills at all levels.
You will be based from our office in Thame.
