Job Description
Reporting into the Director of Central Operations, this is a 6 - 9 month fixed term contract.
The job in a nutshell
  • Plan and personally execute strategic projects to meet business goals
  • Lead a “plan, do, review” process to optimise critical Operations trading performance across 2021, including the development of a cross functional plan for macro impacts including Brexit
  • Work cross functionally with the Central Operations, Marketing, IT and People team to develop a lean productivity, quality and automation plan for Hotel Operations [Low Cost Travelodge Plan]
What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the planning and execution of strategic projects, starting with the critical Operations trading performance plan to deliver specific customer and commercial targets
  • Design, build and implement an overall “plan, do, review” process to optimise all aspects of operational performance
  • Define, agree and document the next phase of the Low Cost Travelodge Plan, including a benefits and complexity assessment to develop a prioritised roadmap for the next three years
  • High level stakeholder management will be an integral part of this role; the individual will need to commonly manage directors / heads of department
Stakeholder management:
  • Internal: Operations, Marketing, Maintenance, IT & People Team & Finance
  •  External: All key suppliers
Budget and People Management:
  • Benefits definition for the 3 year Low Cost Plan [quality and productivity]
  • Complex matrix management of cross functional teams across multiple functions
  • Project budget definition and responsibility
What we’ll expect from you
  • Proven “hands on” business change experience including management of more than 3 large Projects (large project = 9-12 months plus elapsed time frame)
  • Decision making and problem solving skills – particularly a creative approach to problem solving
  • Analytical and commercial acumen to review performance metrics and
    develop a benefits driven roadmap
  • Proven experience of matrix management of teams of 10 to 30 people with different skills and experience across the business
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management at a senior level
  • Hospitality or experience of delivering quality and productivity improvements in a service industry
