The job in a nutshell

The role of Lead Resourcing Partner - Operations (8 month contract) is to manage recruitment for our hotel operations roles, leading a small team. The incumbent will take personal responsibility for more senior hotel management hires and oversee the support service we provide to hotels for team member recruitment. They will work collaboratively with Regional Directors and District Managers to deliver the end to end resourcing plan.

The Lead Resourcing Partner will align resourcing strategies and processes with the business strategy, identify demand and deliver the talent for current and future needs across the Hotel management structure to minimise hotel management gaps.

On occasions the incumbent and their DRs may be required to support vacancies for our Support Office teams

What you’ll be doing:

Resource planning

  • The Lead Resourcing Partner will align resourcing strategies and processes with the regional people plan, identify demand and deliver the talent for current and future needs in our hotels. 

  • Take a proactive approach to talent attraction, through a number of channels, including market mapping, search activities and promoting Travelodge as a great place to work.

Hotel Management recruitment

  • Follows the company resourcing standards when recruiting for roles. 

  • Takes a creative and innovative approach to recruitment including sourcing including the use of digital, mobile and social media.  

  • Works with the Hiring Manager to agree the brief and create a compelling attraction strategy. 

  • Proactively drives the recruitment process to ensure roles are filled promptly. 

  • Uses CV databases and advanced search methodology to headhunt candidates where required.  

  • Follows the same process for District Management recruitment.

  • Ensures knowledge of employment law is up to date and any legislation that may impact the recruitment process.


Succession Planning

  • Has knowledge and visibility of the regional succession plan, in order to identify potential across emerging internal talent and retention risks. 

  • Puts in place an appropriate plan to mitigate risk of management vacancies and proactively suggests ways to mitigate through external sourcing.

Team Member recruitment 

  • Manages a small team of Recruitment Advisors to support hotels team member recruitment. The support proposition will vary depending on the recruitment challenges but the Lead Resourcing Partner will be expected to work with stakeholders and the Senior Resourcing Manager to ensure this proposition is fit for purpose and aligned to the revenue contribution of our hotels.  

  • Takes a forward looking approach working closely with key stakeholders to minimise team member vacancies.

Candidate journey 

  • Ensure that candidates have a positive recruitment experience with Travelodge by communicating regularly and engaging them. Work with Operational colleagues to ensure feedback is received timely and meets the standard required.

  • Promote a culture with the Resourcing Advisors of caring for candidates and build an understanding of the impact it has on our employer brand 

External talent pool

Maintains a ‘talent pool’ of individuals who could work for Travelodge when an opportunity arises. Keeps the pool warm and revisits for updates at regular intervals. 

What we’ll expect from you:

In order to succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate experience of working in a fast paced recruitment environment managing a high volume of vacancies. The ability to translate business requirements into compelling recruitment campaigns is essential, as is exposure of using applicant tracking systems.

Candidates should have the ability to build strong relationships and network across the People and Operational teams. They should be passionate about direct recruitment and have the ability to demonstrate success through past KPIs. 

This role will require someone who is highly organised, and is able to handle multiple vacancies and projects and keep on top of them all. 

Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
