The job in a nutshell


To be an integral part of Travelodge’s acquisition strategy. You will be responsible for winning direct to brand business customers (£50k+ spend) via the Travelodge Business Website. You will achieve this through directly selling Travelodge’s business customer proposition. Developing strong relationships with potential customers understanding their business and accommodation needs, in order to develop the appropriate strategy, win new business customers and grow Travelodge’s market share within this segment. This is an office based sales role but when appropriate you will meet face to face with customers.


What you’ll be doing:


New Business Sales Delivery

  • Win new direct to brand corporate accounts managing the sales process end to end.
  • Ensure that an accurate rolling new business sales pipeline, sales forecast is maintained and managed efficiently.
  • Develop strategically a pipeline of target accounts via LinkedIn lead source, use data and insight from existing customers to target competitors and utilise market and industry intelligence.
  • Support new hotels & need locations through targeted new business sales activity.
  • Ensure the effective transition of new corporate account wins across to the account management team.
  • Showcase the Travelodge hotel portfolio to prospective corporate customers using compelling methods, including hotel visits exhibitions and networking events.
  • Build bespoke customer proposals

Stakeholder Management

  • Work with Account Management team to ensure alignment of new business propositions and account handovers
  • Work with revenue team on bespoke customer proposals
  • Build strong internal stakeholder relationships within and outside of the Sales function as required
  • Work with Business Development Director on lead handovers and way of working.

What we’ll expect from you

To succeed in this role you’ll need to bring your natural ability to proactively drive SME corporate account sales and to work in a fast paced target driven environment. There will be a significant reliance on you to identify and win opportunities for new business. In addition, we'd like you to have:

  • B2B sales experience with a track record of new business acquisition
  • Proficient in the use of LinkedIn
  • Evidence negotiation and influencing at senior decision maker level
  • Experienced understanding of the B2B buying process and proposal writing
  • The ability to present face to face and over the phone the Travelodge proposition
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • A hunger for account wins, you'll be ambitious and target driven
  • Results driven, self-motivated, flexible and resilient
