What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the PR manager to deliver the annual new hotel openings PR programme and support on other corporate and consumer PR activity

  • With the PR manager you will generate a high level of awareness for each hotel opening via media relations across broadcast, print and digital channels.

  • Supporting the Press Office, handling day to day media enquiries, ensuring we are viewed as a reliable, useful and credible source of information that delivers best-in-class PR

  • Working with the PR Manager on business issues and crises, minimising the impact of negative issues through effective reputation and crisis management

  • Working with consumer PR Manager to create and implement an annual travel PR programme across national, regional and consumer press 

  • Creating monthly bespoke room offers to help drive traffic to the Travelodge website and manage an annual room review programme.

  • Drafting internal and external briefing materials to support PR activity 

  • Building new journalist contacts across all media spectrums

  • Supporting the Communications Director with high profile PR campaigns 

A bit more about you:

  • PR experience, preferably in a busy press office for a large company or PR agency where you have worked with high profile brands

  • Experience of creating impactful PR plans across all media channels  

  • Strong writing skills especially writing consumer related communications, with excellent attention to detail 

  • Extensive experience of selling in a press release to different consumer 

  • High level of organisation with excellent verbal communication and creative skills

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and easily within a team

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and in a fast moving environment

  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time
