The job in a nutshell:


As a Group Sales team leader your role is to deliver the agreed Groups Sales accuracy, productivity and conversion targets, in order to grow sales and achieve budgeted revenue targets.


You will do this by managing a team of Sales advisors who are tasked with the conversion of group booking enquiries to confirmed bookings.


What you’ll be doing:



  • Support the Sales Team Manager in the delivery of the vision and direction for your team, focusing them to achieve and exceed their objectives.

  • Lead, manage and develop a highly engaged and high performing Sales team. Ensuring robust talent management and succession planning is in place 

  • Undertake regular performance reviews to all Sales Advisors to highlight any training needs, performance issues or trends and to celebrate success

  • Support the Sales Team Manager on the delivery of a measurable booking process for the Groups and Events channels ensuring that all KPI’s are met.

  • Manage the day to day operations and the relationship with external clients’ distribution and financial teams to deliver an accurate booking and invoicing process reducing cost related errors.  

  • Manage the twice yearly contracting and the smooth distribution of allocated rooms.

  • To support the Reservation Team Manager in the delivery of the team strategy and attainment of team KPI’s.

  • Liaison with internal financial teams to manage the  credit note and missed booking processes

  • Production of reporting to support the  management of team targets and client SLAs

  • Take ownership of any queries or complaints that may be received by the team and management of these with the support of the Reservation Team Manager and/or the customer services team accordingly.

  • Build strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels including Revenue, Hotel Booking Support Team, Accounts and Customer Services.

  • Build strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels, promoting accountability of sales performance, communication, problem resolution and innovation.



What we’ll expect from you:


To succeed in this role you’ll need to be a strong sales leader who is able to proactively deliver account growth, strategy and actions. There will be a significant reliance on the individual to drive the team to grow conversion and room night sales. In addition, the role requires:


  • Experience of leading and managing teams and driving sales performance in a fast moving, challenging and multi-channel environment

  • You will be confident in the management of a team and to be able to support the development of individuals

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills  

  • Results driven, self-motivated, flexible and resilient

  • Experience of managing an outsourced relationship
