The job in a nutshell


The role of the Talent Development Partner is to work closely with our People Business Partners and our Hotel Operations leadership team to develop and embed our people development programmes in our hotels.

The role is key to driving operational change and building management capability through the development of our people from Team Member through to District Manager and head office roles.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Develop, embed and evolve Travelodge’s talent agenda in our hotels by designing content and defining the delivery approach for levy and non-levy funded talent development programmes (we call our internal programmes Aspire).

  • Ensure that our wellbeing and inclusion strategy is fully integrated into talent development programmes in our hotels.

  • Use and adopt latest methods and thinking in learning to ensure effective and future focused programme delivery.

  • Build strong internal stakeholder relationships, through engaging with all levels in our head office and with our Hotel Operations leadership team and Hotel Managers in hotels across the UK (this will involve extensive travel).

  • Build strong external partner relationships to continuously evolve and evaluate our externally supported programmes.

  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, ensuring all development programmes are delivered on time and within budget

  • Manage the administration of levy funded talent development programmes 


What we’ll expect from you


  • A hands on approach as you will be a point of contact and subject matter expert in all aspects of our talent development programmes in our hotels.

  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

  • Able to interpret data in order to recommend talent development interventions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of apprenticeships and other forms of non-levy talent development programmes

  • CIPD qualification preferred (not essential)

  • Stakeholder management skills with evidence of having supported business change through talent development.
