The job in a nutshell

As an Application Delivery Analyst, you will play a key role in leading our business applications throughout their lifecycle, including workflow/process automation, reservation /revenue management, CRM, finance, HR, maintenance, F&B and data/reporting. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure applications are well designed, cost effective and that the required functionality and performance is available to achieve the desired business outcomes.

You will do this by helping identify functional and non-functional requirements, assisting in design and deployment and by contributing to ongoing application improvements and support.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Application Delivery Specialist to contribute to the Travelodge application strategy, encompassing technology selection, delivery/support approach and vendor/supplier management.

  • Working closely with the Application Delivery Specialist, wider IT operations, IT delivery, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure there is a coordinated approach to application delivery.

  • Capturing and documenting detailed requirements, working with sponsors, end-users, business analysts and project managers to determine their evolving needs.

  • Working with internal teams and vendors in support of new business initiatives, conducting end to end technical impact assessments and supporting business case collation.

  • Supporting the Application Delivery Specialist with solution design activities, ensuring application solutions are designed to achieve desired business outcomes.

  • Performing or coordinating application build and deployment activities, working closely with internal teams and vendors.

  • Defining test plans and executing testing activities for application initiatives, including functional and non-function testing, ensuring a holistic end to end approach is taken.

  • Work with the Application Delivery Specialist, Application Support Lead, and Service Management team, to transition new or updated application services/technologies into support according to an agreed plan.

  • Working with vendors and the Application Support Lead to plan, manage and deliver system upgrades, releases and patch management. 

  • Assisting in the resolution of application-related complex/major incidents.

  • Owning and managing application-related problems, identifying acceptable work arounds as well as identifying and resolving underlying root cause.

  • Supporting the implementation of application related changes, ensuring the change management process is adhered to at all times and, in conjunction with the  Application Support Lead, maintaining a forward schedule of change for all application services.

  • Working with the Application function to identify, propose and recommend application service improvement initiatives.

What we’ll expect from you

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced self starter with a solid understanding of application technologies with experience of both insourced and outsourced support models.

The following skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • At least 2 years experience in a dedicated application management role with responsibility for managing business applications across their lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, deploy, operate and optimise.

  • Previous experience of application lifecycle management in the areas of workflow/process automation, reservation management, revenue management, CRM, finance, HR, maintenance, F&B and data/reporting.

  • Demonstrable experience of identifying and leading application improvement initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of hospitality industry business processes.

  • Good knowledge of current and future technology and industry trends.

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and influence others up to a senior level.

  • High levels of energy, drive and resilience, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Must be able to multitask and manage a large and varied workload and demonstrate high levels of organisation.

  • Drive and determination to continuously improve customer satisfaction.

  • Minimum ITIL V3 Foundation certified and significant experience in ITIL aligned environments.
