The job in a nutshell


As an Analyst in the Sales Team you will work with the Sales Insight & Analytics Manager to identify commercial opportunities ensuring maximisation of revenue via the offline and B2B online Sales Channels using analysis and robust insight through to recommendation.  We are looking for someone that can draw out the key insights from data sets and articulate their findings and recommendations.

You’ll provide regular (weekly and monthly) analysis and reporting, while supporting the wider Sales team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis. You’ll be supporting the SME team in providing key insights and actions that will drive revenue into the channel.  You’ll support the New Business Team by using available sources to generate leads for customer acquisition, report on the performance of these leads and identify channel trends . You will also support the Key Account Team by looking at trends for our Key Corporate customers to identify risk and opportunity.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for producing & improving standard weekly and monthly reporting and insight

  • Utilising internal databases and third party sources (including D&B Market Insights and Glenigan) to generate a pipeline of business customer leads for the sales team

  • Utilising data from our CRM system to report on and make recommendations on the performance of the sales team

  • Provide analytical expertise to the wider sales team

  • Analysis of Company MI for reporting and identifying trends

  • Build and develop reporting capability to understand commercial impact of sales activity, strategic initiatives and performance against KPIs

  • Working with internal teams to develop self-serve reports / dashboards for the wider sales team

  • Build relationships cross functionally with key stakeholders to aid in the provision of data and reporting for business requirements



What we’ll expect from you

To succeed in the role you’ll bring 2+ years’ experience in a data analyst role where you can demonstrate you have used your analytical skills to measure impact of business initiatives. You’ll have advanced Excel skills and be proficient in manipulating large data sets to create pivot tables, charts and tables. You’ll have experience of automating repetitive processes to make reporting more efficient. You’ll have excellent numeracy skills, with a high level of accuracy and you’ll thrive in an agile environment where the insight you provide can really make a difference.

In addition you’ll need to demonstrate:


  • Strong data analysis skills

  • Experience of making recommendations based on Insight 

  • Ability to present data clearly and concisely

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others

  • A proactive attitude with excellent commercial awareness

  • Ability to produce accurate & high quality reports under time constraints

  • Strategic thinking and problem solving capability

  • Excellent organisational skills, working to plans and deadlines

  • Be self-motivated and driven


  • Experience of report building in Power BI

  • Experience of using Google Suite  as a tool to present your findings

  • Experience of generating sales leads based on Insight
