Travelodge, the UK’s largest independent hotel chain, is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Rosamond as the company’s new HR Director. Julia joins Britain’s iconic value hotel brand from Nando’s.

Over the last fifteen years Julia has been instrumental in helping to develop one of the UK’s best known and fastest growing restaurant groups, recognised for its brand personality and focus on people. As HR Director, Julia led the creation of Nando’s approach to recruitment and training, helping the company grow to more than 300 restaurants, employing 10,000 people. The strength of Nando’s approach to people led to it being ranked first in the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for list in 2010.

Prior to joining Nando’s, Julia was HR Director at Pelican Group, the operator of Café Rouge and Dome, after an early career at Rank, where roles included HR Director of its branded restaurants division.

Julia will join the Travelodge team on the 6th October 2014 and will report to Travelodge’s Chief Executive, Peter Gowers.

Peter Gowers, Travelodge Chief Executive said:
“We’re delighted that Julia will be joining the Travelodge team. Julia brings great experience in developing distinctive brands through people and her role will be vital in our transformation, as we build a new Travelodge with the aim to become Britain’s favourite hotel for value.”
Julia Rosamond said:

“I’m excited to be joining Travelodge at such an important time in the company’s development. With the hotel modernisation programme well underway and fantastic people across the business, we’re in a great position to grow. I’m really looking forward to helping place people at the heart of everything we do as we continue to strengthen the service we offer for our customers.”
