Experience the charm of life in Accy

A former centre of the cotton and textile machinery industries, Accrington, or Accy as it's affectionately known to locals, is most famous for manufacturing the world's hardest and densest bricks, which were used to help build the Empire State Building and Blackpool Tower. The town is also well known for housing Europe's largest collection of colourful Tiffany glass, at Haworth Art Gallery. The collection was donated by Joseph Briggs, a local who once worked as an art director for Tiffany's.
