Battersea powers ahead...

Known for the protruding chimneys of its famous power station, Battersea has come a long way from its industrial past. The riverside area is being redeveloped into a thriving neighbourhood, with the project set to be completed by 2026. It will include apartments, shops, restaurants, cinemas and a concert hall.

Meet the animals in Battersea Park

Want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Battersea Park has scenic riverside views, tennis courts, an art gallery and boating lake. The star of the show is the children's zoo. Get up close to chinchillas, meerkats, monkeys, rabbits, Scottish wildcats, ring-tailed lemurs and even a Siberian chipmunk. In the reptile house, meet bearded dragons and rat snakes.
