Thurrock - a shopper's paradise
Not only does Thurrock have the Lakeside Shopping Centre (Intu Lakeside) on its doorstep, it also offers a huge range of outlet stores to browse. Bargain hunt at Marks & Spencer outlet, the Nike Factory store and Next Clearance, or simply shop 'til you drop in the high street stores at Lakeside, before relaxing at one of its many cafes and restaurants. Situated just off the eastern edge of the captial, if you fancy a trip to central London, Thurrock has super handy rail connections to Fenchurch Street.
Enjoy a day at the nature park
To get away from the hustle and bustle, head for Thurrock Thameside Nature Park. A 30-minute drive out of town, the park on the Thames Estuary is a great spot for watching ships as well as birds. There are plenty of footpaths, bridleways and cycleways for exploring, plus a visitor centre with a gift shop and of course, great views.
Try trampolining with the giants
Jump Giants Trampoline Park is a world of fun for the whole family. As well as over 100 interconnecting trampolines there's slamball, dodgeball and basketball to keep everyone entertained.
