Job Description

What’s it all about?

As the Senior Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention. You will work closely with the Intelligent Automation Manager and stakeholders to understand business processes, design automation solutions, and implement RPA / IA solutions using tools such as UiPath or other relevant technologies, this is very much an exciting hands on role to shape the start of the Intelligent Automation journey at Travelodge

You will be responsible for building the foundation and automation framework supported by detailed documentation to support in creating a repeatable automation process with clear business standards from Identification through to maintaining automations.

You will have a strong track record of delivering complex and innovative automations whilst having a detailed understanding of the operational impact to ensure processes are transitioned seamlessly whilst keeping customers and colleagues at the heart.

You will also need to support automations that are live, i.e. operationalised, to ensure that the workload on the business is minimised and the benefit of automation is being achieved.

This is a 2 year FTC

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Analysis: Collaborate with Intelligent Automation Manager and subject matter experts to identify and understand business processes suitable for automation.
  • Own the automation road map [Build, Categorisation, prioritisation, delivery
  • Collaborate with teams to fully understand existing ways of working and how boundaries can be pushed to maximise the levels of automation opportunity within the business
  • Solution Design: Create detailed solution designs and automation workflows that meet business requirements and are scalable and maintainable, whilst ensuring team and colleague ways of working are signs off and clearly defined.
  • Own and approve CSF’s for all automations with regular measurements and business reporting
  • Development: Build and configure RPA bots using RPA tools and scripting languages, ensuring they accurately mimic human interactions with applications and systems.
  • Testing: Conduct rigorous testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the automation solutions are error-free and meet quality standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all RPA projects, including design documents, test cases, and process documentation.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance of deployed bots and provide ongoing maintenance and support, addressing any issues or improvements needed.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful automation implementations and provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Training: Train end-users and relevant teams on how to use and interact with the automated solutions effectively.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that automation solutions adhere to security and compliance standards, and implement necessary security measures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest RPA trends and best practices, and identify opportunities to improve existing processes and automation solutions.

Who will this appeal to?

  • 5+ years experience of leading and developing automations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in RPA / AI development using tools like UiPath
  • Strong understanding of AI and operational user cases
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as .Net (preferred), C#, Java, Python, or scripting languages for RPA scripting and automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex situations in an easy to understand way to all levels within the business
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Certification in relevant RPA tools
