Clifford’s Tower
This famous keep is all that remains of York Castle, perched dramatically atop a steep mound.
Climb to the top of the tower for fantastic, panoramic views over the city, the River Ouse, and the surrounding countryside. The recent restoration work has made it even better to explore!
It’s a great spot to get a sense of York’s history and its defensive position, and it’s a brilliant, easy walk from the city centre.
