A blustery walk along the Durham Coast

The Durham Coast is well know for its grand cliffs, stunning headlands and incredible beach views. The coastal footpath runs for 11 miles following the England Coast Path National Trail, indulging you in everything from grasslands to rock pools. Entertain the whole family in one place. Adults can enjoy the break from busy life out in the open air, whilst young children learn and explore in the terrain. Or, if you have teenagers who believe they’re ‘too cool’ for outdoor fun, the National Trust have hidden a stash of geocaches along the Durham Coast for a more high-tech adventure!

Ramsgate Festivities

The seaside town of Ramsgate spares no expense when it comes to celebrating Saint Nick. Kicking off with the Christmas light switch-on event on November 27th, the Christmas Tree Festival then begins on December 9th. Closely followed by the Ramsgate Arts Barge Christmas Ball on December 10th and the Christmas Fayre on December 11th. In a nutshell, there’s absolutely no shortage of Christmas activities for you to get involved with!

If you’re looking for that magical atmosphere whilst successfully finding all of your Christmas shopping, The Lanes is just the place for you. Dunster by Candlelight

On Friday 2nd and Staurday 3rd December, Dunster by Candelight returns to bring a fun-filled weekend to all the village folk and visitors. With street entertainment from choirs to Morris Dancers, you won’t want to miss out! Admire the fabulous stiltwalkers who put up the lanters and dress up yourself to join in the fun. On the Saturday there will even be 17th century soldiers marching through the village with flaming torches!
