Royal Botanic Garden
Looking for a peaceful, tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh’s city streets? The Royal Botanic Garden is the perfect spot.
These huge, beautiful gardens span 70 acres and are a true sanctuary, featuring stunning scenery, a huge variety of different plant collections from around the globe, and beautiful glasshouses. Wander through the Chinese Hillside, admire the Rhododendron Collection, or find a quiet bench for a picnic. It’s a fantastic place to take a leisurely, scenic stroll and enjoy the fresh air.
Here’s a great tip: while there is a small charge for the magnificent glasshouses, the general entry to the gardens themselves is free, making it a wonderful, budget-friendly spot for a few hours of calm.
