Explore incredible train heritage via Darlington railway station

Located on the East Coast Mainline, Darlington railway station sits at the centre of a town which is steeped in railway heritage. The Stockton and Darlington Railway was the first public railway in the world to carry passengers on steam locomotives and this historic moment is commemorated by both the Head of Steam museum in the town and the famous Brick Train sculpture which stands on its outskirts.

See top shows at Darlington Hippodrome

There is much more to Darlington than just trains however, with the town also hosting a range of top acts and performances at the newly renovated Darlington Hippodrome. Visitors seeking a leisurely stroll will also find plenty to enjoy in the town's South Park, a Grade II-registered location which is home to stunning landscape, an aviary and a children's play area.

See incredible falconry at Walworth Castle

There are some incredible locations to be enjoyed just outside of Darlington too, with the stunning 16th-century mansion house of Walworth Castle also boasting a Birds of Prey centre which offers visitors the chance to enjoy incredible falconry displays. Another great location Nearby is Raby Castle, which was built in the late 1300s and boasts walled gardens and a 200-acre deer park. Planning a trip to Darlington railway station?
