Explore incredible train heritage via Darlington railway station

Located on the East Coast Mainline, Darlington railway station sits at the centre of a town which is steeped in railway heritage. The Stockton and Darlington Railway was the first public railway in the world to carry passengers on steam locomotives and this historic moment is commemorated by both the Head of Steam museum in the town and the famous Brick Train sculpture which stands on its outskirts.

There is much more to Darlington than just trains however, with the town also hosting a range of top acts and performances at the newly renovated Darlington Hippodrome.
