Experience London's beating heart around the London School of Economics

The London School of Economics couldn't be more central, and is just a short walk from the Thames and within easy reach of London's biggest sights. Start by touring Lincoln's Inn Fields, one of central London's finest green squares. Then head for Somerset House, where in summer you'll find a huge screen showing hit films, or a charming ice skating rink in Winter. Nearby the Strand is home to the imposing, Victorian Gothic Royal Courts of Justice.

Channel your inner journo on Fleet Street

The London School of Economics is just a few mintue's walk from London's renowned Fleet Street, dotted with the favourite watering holes of the capital's journalists and writers. Visitors should get in the mood by visiting Dr Johnson's House, the restored, 300-year-old former residence of one of England's finest writers. Then head for the cavernous - and very reasonably priced - Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, a favourite haunt of today's writers.

Take in the Thames and Tate Britain

Located just 2 minutes walk from the expansive River Thames in the heart of the English capital, London School of Economics is within easy reach of a relaxing riverside stroll. Head west and south, taking in the dignified modernism of the National Theatre and the South Bank, before leaving the river at Pimcilio to explore the fine collection of art at Tate Britain.
