A stadium with real history

It's the habit of football clubs to move to ever larger and more state-of-the-art premises, however Leeds United FC have, since their inception in 1919, remained at Elland Road. That's not to say it's not modern, however - over the years the stadium has been updated to include all mod cons, and is now a respected conference and events venue as well as boasting a great atmosphere on match days.

Take in a round of golf, or shop till you drop

A little over a mile south of Elland Road is the South Leeds Golf Club, which boasts a very well designed 18 holes across undulating parkland, which includes what has been described as "possibly one of the finest par-3s in the north of England". Adjacent to this is the White Rose Shopping Centre, which is home to all the major brands.

Visit Leeds

Leeds itself is an exciting and vibrant place to visit, and, after London, is a financial leader in the country. Its economy is thriving, and the benefits can be reaped from its many public amenities - including free museums (Leeds City Museum is a must) and parklands, with Roundhay Park one of the largest in Europe.

Planning a trip to Elland Road? Travelodge Leeds Central Hotel is conveniently close to the city centre, and the main railway station - from where the stadium is a 30-minute walk, or a quick hop by taxi or public transport. Travelodge Leeds Central Vicar Lane Hotel, to the north of the city, is great if you're planning to take in the city's other sights.
