The Booth Museum of Natural History is home to half a million exhibits, but the star attraction is the Victorian taxidermy collection of Edward Booth. Within the museum, you’ll find everything from beetles to butterflies and even the skeleton of a killer whale. It’s a great place to take the kids!

2. Brighton Fishing Museum

The Brighton Fishing Museum is a celebration of the city’s heritage. From here, you can stand and watch the working fishermen in the nearby arches bring local history to life. If you love history, then the Old Police Cells Museum is the place for you. It’s dedicated to charting the history of policing in Sussex from 1830 to the present day. Exhibitions include the graffiti of the Mods and Rockers era and a display of where the first Brighton Chief Constable was murdered! Brighton’s Open Market has been in operation since the 1920s. It was redeveloped and reopened in 2014, and now it’s a proud community hub for the area. The Royal Pavilion Gardens are a beautiful monument to the past. To this day, the gardens conform as closely as they can to the original plants supplied to George IV. 22. Hove Park

Preston Park is the largest urban park in the city and it’s regularly used by the council for events. The main attraction in Preston Park is the ‘Preston Twins’. These are thought to be the largest and oldest Elm trees in the world. There’s also a kids’ play area and two cafes.

24. St Ann’s Well Gardens & Café

25. St Pauls Parish Church

Saint Paul’s Parish Church is a true monument to the city’s resilience. The church was originally built in 1848, but it was almost completely destroyed by a fire. Thankfully, the beautiful stained-glass windows were saved, as were some truly stunning samples of Gothic Revival architecture. Saint Paul’s is open to visitors in the mornings, and you’re welcome to stay for daily mass.

26. St Bartholomew’s Church

St Bartholomew’s is a Grade I listed Victorian church that’s famous for its Art Nouveau furnishings.
