Company Overview
Leading the way in budget-friendly accommodation
Founded in 1985, we are Britain’s very first budget hotel chain. Today, Travelodge is one of the largest budget hotel chains in the UK, with a well-invested and modernised portfolio of over 600 hotels and 47,000 bedrooms across the UK, Ireland and Spain.
Welcoming over 22 million guests annually, the majority of our hotels are located in major cities, towns and holiday hotspots as well as by airports and key business hubs. With 90% of our hotels rated 4* or above on TripAdvisor, we’re proud to offer our diverse customer base a good value experience – whether travelling for business or leisure.
Our business customers enjoy the convenience of our locations, with a Travelodge in every major city and town in the UK, as do our leisure guests who choose to stay with Travelodge when visiting family and friends or want somewhere comfortable and good value to stay for all of life’s occasions, such as after a wedding, a concert or a sporting event.
We see huge opportunity to expand our UK hotel network with plans to open a further 300 sites and our ongoing hotel refit programme is expected to see 50% of the Travelodge room estate upgraded to our new design by the end of 2024.
In Spain we have an established profitable presence and we recently announced the acquisition of 6 new hotels. This doubles our presence to 12 hotels in Spain and gives us the ideal base to build our brand even further
We employ over 13,000 employees and are dedicated to creating opportunities for everyone to learn more, earn more and belong.
Our commitment to diversity in the workplace
Travelodge recognises the benefits of having a diverse workforce with different backgrounds and experiences, solely employed on ability, and it supports this belief with clear policies on equality and diversity and a track record of strong representation at all levels from people of all backgrounds.
At Travelodge, we monitor the diversity of job applicants and the composition of our existing workforce by each protected characteristic to support a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion. We remain committed to evolving our approach to ensure it is embedded as a way of life across the organisation.
