Travelodge Expands Spanish Portfolio with Bilbao Sestao Opening
Travelodge, the UK’s first budget hotel brand which operates over 630 hotels across the UK, Spain and Ireland, has officially opened Travelodge Bilbao Sestao. This brand new 105-room hotel will be the Group’s 13th hotel in Spain.
The hotel has been delivered through the acquisition and conversion of a purpose-built property, finished to Travelodge’s latest premium look and feel and featuring the brand’s popular 85 Bar Café.
Located in Sestao within the Bilbao metropolitan area, the hotel is well connected, just a short walk from the nearest metro station and with multiple bus routes nearby. It offers easy access to Bilbao’s main railway stations, Abando and Concordia, as well as Bilbao Airport. A range of local amenities, including shops, restaurants and cafés, are also within easy reach, making it a convenient base for both business and leisure travellers.
Steve Bennett, Chief Property and Development Officer at Travelodge, said: “We are delighted to open our newest hotel in Bilbao, further strengthening our presence in Spain. This new hotel reflects our continued focus on growing in key markets, offering high-quality, great-value accommodation in well-connected locations for both business and leisure travellers.”
Travelodge has an established and growing presence in Spain and continues to see strong opportunities for further expansion, with around 20 locations identified as target destinations and four hotels currently in the pipeline.
