8th December 2006

Today, Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath and Lieutenant Colonel Ian Duncan, Commanding Officer for Sandhurst Support Centre officially opened Camberley Travelodge. The 66-room hotel has created 20 new jobs within the community and will offer rooms from £15*.

Camberley Travelodge is a £2.6 million investment for the town and was built in a record time of just 40 weeks. It is ideally located for the business and leisure traveller and is situated at 507 - 537 London Road, Camberley, Surrey, GU15 3DF.

Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath said: "I'm delighted that this opening confirms that Camberley, and the broader Surrey Heath area, remains an attractive place to visit and I'm particularly pleased that this new hotel will have rooms specifically fitted for disabled people and is designed to suit families needs."

Sarah Vockins Camberley Travelodge's Manager, said: "There is big demand for budget accommodation within Camberley and our new Travelodge hotel will help to fill this gap. Its central location is ideal for business and leisure travellers who need quick and easy access to Camberley or the M3 motorway. Local residents can also benefit by accommodating family and friends at the hotel to avoid the additional stress at home, which is ideal for the festive season ahead. We offer a comfortable room from as little as £15, which is the smart choice for any type of stop-over."

Camberley Travelodge will offer a choice of either Family, Double or Disabled access rooms. Each room provides a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV and free tea and coffee making facilities.

The new hotel also has a Bar Cafe which offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at £6.50 per person (children eat for free**), all day snacks and a bar service in the evenings. Free on-site car parking is available.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Travelodge is opening 17 new hotels across the UK. Locations include: Peterborough, Caterham, Romford, Barnstaple, Stansted, Ludlow, Hatfield, Kendal, Birmingham Maypole, Ayr, Manchester Trafford Park, Hereford, Croydon, Watford, Birmingham (Five Ways) and Sheffield (city centre). Over 400 new jobs will be created as a result of these new hotel openings.
