TRAVELODGE OPENS HOTEL IN MANCHESTER SPORTCITY.
Rooms from just £26, book at www.travelodge.co.uk.

Travelodge, the UK's number one budget hotel brand, has acquired the 90-bedroom Quality Hotel in Sportcity and transformed it to Manchester Sportcity Travelodge. This latest opening follows the recent successful opening of Manchester Ancoats Travelodge in March 2005, which has had high occupancy rates since it opened.

This year, Travelodge is investing approx £30 million in the Greater Manchester area, with two new hotel openings to date and a further two planned for later in the year at Manchester airport and Ashton Under Lyne. The openings will create over one hundred new jobs within the region.

In line with company strategy, all the rooms at Manchester Sportcity Travelodge, (previously Quality Hotel) have had non-essential and ancillary items such as fridges, trouser presses and unnecessary bathroom toiletries removed and a new low-cost pricing policy has been introduced. This means Traveldoge can offer rooms from as little as £26 per night. Travelodge also conducted some research that identified Brits are being trapped into paying a staggering total of £186m a year for goods and services they don't want and never use in UK hotel rooms*.

Manchester Sportcity Travelodge offers a choice of a single, double, family or disabled access room, each offering a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury bed, colour TV with in room entertainment offering pay on demand movies, telephone, Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities. Free on site car parking is also provided for guests.

The hotel also has a Bar Café that offers a full English breakfast menu, eat as much as you like at £6.50 per head, children under the age of ten years eat for free. Light meals and alcoholic beverages are available during the day and evening.

Guy Parsons, Travelodge Sales & Marketing Director said, "Manchester, the capital of the North West is a fundamental region for us to concentrate on. Within the last two months we have doubled our room size in the city centre. At the end of 2005, we will have ten hotels within Greater Manchester in prime locations and with room rates from as little as £26. Travelodge is always the smart choice whether staying for business or leisure as it is fantastic value in comparison to some of the extortionate prices Manchester hotels are charging. In some cases a room can cost as much as £120 per night.
