Tour the west Cornish coast

The tiny town of Hayle is perfectly placed just mintues from Cornwall's delightful west coast. Just north of the town you'll find the Towans, a lovely golden beach overlooking the blue waters of St.Ives Bay. To the north-east, Godrevy-Porteath Heritage Coast offers stunning cliffside walks with sea views, as well as a popular surfers' beach. Kids will love Paradise Park, just south of Hayle, home to rare birds, a miniature railway and fun indoor play area.

In a quarter of an hour by car, you can get from Hayle to the delightful seaside resort of St Ives. As well being a magnet for sun seekers and surfers thanks to its wide, sandy harbour, it's also a destination for art lovers. Tate St Ives showcases modern British artist connected with the area, whilst the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden houses the former studio of one of the 20th centuries most renowned sculptors, as well as a fascinating garden trail dotted with her works.

A night out in Newquay

Just 35 minutes up the Cornish coast from Hayle brings you to buzzing Newquay, the area's nightlife hub. Popular with young crowds and seasonal surfers, you can find bars and pubs dotted around the compact centre. Just north of town, The Red Lion is a renowned music venue with arresting harbour views.
