Gulliver's Kingdom - thrills and spills for young and old

The original Gulliver's theme park, Gulliver's Kingdom is located in Derbyshire's Matlock Bath and has been ran by the Phillips family since it opened in 1978. Originally a model village, the theme park now boasts a wide range of rides and events, particularly aimed at 2-13 year olds, including the Pirate Training Camp, Lost Kingdom and Log Coaster.

And why limit yourself to a day when you can stay in exciting themed accommodation? The brand new Explorers Retreat and Fairytale Retreat include pirate, princess and wizard themes.

Head to the skies at the Heights of Abraham

One of the area's oldest tourist attractions, the Heights of Abraham, less than a mile away, first opened in 1780. The woodland has long been home to underground caverns, exhibitions and play areas. In recent years, however, the main attraction has become the pioneering cable car system, taking visitors into the air for breathtaking views of the Peak District.
