A warm Yorkshire welcome at Driffield

Driffield is a town in East Yorkshire, in the heart of the picturesque Wolds and around half an hour's drive from the delightful east coast. With its own golf course and swimming pool, there's lots to keep active types busy, and there are also lovely independent shops plus a weekly market on Thursdays. Head to the picturesque canal and three becks (streams) for a pleasant walk, and if you happen to be here in July you may witness the famed Driffield Show, a big event on the agricultural calendar.

The surrounding area boasts some fine country houses with lots for everyone to enjoy. Burton Agnes Hall is a beautiful mansion with lovely interiors, award-winning gardens, giant games for kids' fun, plus shops and a cafe. Or seek out the equally lovely Sledmere House. Don't miss the eye-catching Turkish Room and the moving Wagoners' Museum - a homage to the First World War soldiers who drove horse-drawn wagons to the front line. Walkers will love to join part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, a national trail round this distinctive undulating countryside.

Build a sandcastle at the Yorkshire seaside

The coast is only half an hour away - Barmston beach is probably the Nearest and highly rated by visitors for cleanliness and size.
