Manor houses and historic homes in Bexley

Home to some of south-east London's grandest historic manors and houses, Bexley is a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

16th-century Hall Place houses a collection of local artefacts and boasts a topiary lawn and tropical garden. The Georgian villa Danson House serves as the borough's Register Office, but you can take a grand tour of its rooms - including a Victorian kitchen - on Sundays. Meanwhile, you can visit William Morris's home, Victorian Red House, to see the original features and furniture, as well as a collection of artwork.

Head for the shops at Bexleyheath

Less than ten minutes from Bexley, Broadway Shopping Centre in Bexleyheath is a haven for shopaholics.

There's 60 popular high street stores to browse here, selling everything from fashion and jewellery to cards and gifts. You'll also find a great selection of eateries, from Burger King to M&S Cafe Revive, if you want a quick bite to eat.

Nautical adventure awaits in Greenwich

Located just east of Greenwich, Bexley is also close to some of the best attractions south of the Thames.
